MeXX has comprehensive search functions for retrieving information stored in MeXX.
The search window is divided into 3 sections.
Find items in the following category (1)
Here you enter what type of elements you want to find. For example, if you are looking for a project, select Project.
Define condition (2)
Here you can define conditions (restrictions) that the elements you are looking for must fulfill. In the “Category” field, select the category for which you want to define the search conditions.
“Column”: select the column containing the condition with which you want to restrict your search. Now define the operator. Depending on the selected column, different operators are available.
For example, if you select Creation Date, you can select“=”,“<”, or“>”. With the last two, you have selected a period (before or after the date entered). In the “Value” field, enter the value of the condition.
Overview Conditions (3)
To apply the condition, click the “Add” button. Now the condition is added to area 3. You can add any number of conditions and combine them with “AND” or “OR”. You can also use parentheses to combine the conditions differently. To do this, select one or more lines in area 3 and click Brackets.
Existing conditions can be edited. To do this, select the condition in the list (3), the definition area (2) is updated and click the'Change' button to save any changes.
To start the search, click on the “Search” button.
When you start the search, the result is stored in a folder in the search results area. MeXX automatically jumps to the search results folder. If you have multiple search results folders, give them unique names to distinguish them later.
With the function “Edit search”, a defined search can be edited and executed again.
