Pattern recognition

With bore and thread information and chamfer notes, it is possible to determine the different characteristics (e.g. chamfer length and chamfer angle or drill hole depth and thread depth) using internal pattern recognition. In doing so, the displayed text is decomposed using the defined rules.

The patterns can be defined either in the options dialogue or directly in the test window (maintenance).

Area: Pattern

In the “Pattern” area, new patterns can be created or existing patterns can be loaded, saved, edited and deleted. You also have the possibility to save an existing pattern under a new name.

Please note that any changes made must be saved manually before closing the dialogue.

Area: Conditions

In this section the rules are defined on the basis of which the patterns matching the text are determined.

There are two types of rules:

1) Number of values: Determines the number of numerical values within the text 2) Contains characters: Determines whether a specific character is contained in the text.

The “Negate” property can be used to negate the result of a rule evaluation. The rule “Contains a character” then becomes “Does not contain a character”.

Area: Elements

In this section, the elements resulting from the values of the text are defined. Characteristic values can also be assigned directly.

Properties Description
Name Name of the value, will be used later for the calculated values.
Export Checkbox is no longer required. Selection of the target characteristic.
Quantity Indicates whether the value is the number for the multiple value, e.g. if there are 3 identical holes.
Tolerance Indicates whether it is the tolerance of the previous value.
Dimension Class Specifies the characteristics class for general tolerances (undefined, length, angle).

Area: Calculated Values

In this area, further values can be calculated from the defined elements and standard values for characteristics such as the drilling type can be defined.

Properties Description
Name Name of the calculation for better clarity.
Value Pattern Pattern from which the value is calculated.
ISO Pattern Pattern from which the ISO tolerance is determined.
Lower Tol. Pattern Pattern from which the lower tolerance is determined.
Upper Tol. Pattern Pattern from which the upper tolerance is determined.
Precision Pattern Pattern from which the precision is determined.
Target Value Selection of the target value.
Fixed Value Specification of a fixed value if the target feature is a list, e.g. for the hole type.

Area: Test Pattern

In this area, the defined patterns can be tested. On the one hand, the determined matching patterns are displayed, including the determined values, and on the other hand, the non-matching patterns with the results for the individual rules.
